I was born in Bogotá, Colombia, and sports have always held a special place in my heart. Over the years, many teams have meant a great deal to me, but none more than FC Barcelona, followed by the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Lakers — in that order, without question.
My love for Barça began when I watched Ronaldinho play. There was something magical about the way he carried himself on the pitch — the joy, the freedom, the creativity. He made football feel like art, and from that moment on, Barcelona became much more than a team to me. It became a passion and a source of connection, pride, and inspiration.
I came to New Jersey in 2000. Once I found stability in my professional life and carrying with me that love for the club and the hope of building a life here, becoming part of the Penya felt especially meaningful. It gave me the chance to share this passion with others who understand that supporting Barça is not just about results or trophies, but about identity, community, and belonging.
Being part of this Penya has been something I truly value. It is a place where the love for Barcelona brings people together, where friendships are formed, and where that shared passion creates something deeper than simply watching matches. For me, it is about celebrating the club, the culture, and the sense of family that comes with it.
I hope to continue sharing that love for Barcelona with all of you, and I also hope to share the pitch with some of you as well. Sometimes, the best way to connect and understand one another is with a ball at our feet.
